This policy is effective as of 11th November 2022
Comment Helper Buddha is a Chrome extension that functions as a “content script,” meaning it can read and change data on websites you browse. Given its capabilities, privacy is a significant concern, which this policy addresses.
We collect the teacher's name for identification and to prevent account misuse, along with the user’s email address for authentication purposes. Authentication is managed through Google’s Firebase Authentication API, which we do not have access to.
We gather data on user behavior within the application for improving user experience. Comments and teacher’s names are stored locally via Chrome's local-storage, not in our database. We read the current URL for operational purposes without storing it.
Information collected is strictly for the functionality of Comment Helper Buddha, including authentication, improving user experience, and ensuring the extension operates correctly on designated websites.
Payment processing is facilitated by Stripe, a leading payment processor. We do not store any payment or credit card information.
In compliance with COPPA, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
We do not share personal data with third parties, except as necessary for the operation of Comment Helper Buddha, such as through Stripe for payment processing.
We do not save any cookies.
By using Comment Helper Buddha, you consent to our data practices as described in this policy. We reserve the right to modify this policy and will publish updates here.
For questions, updates to your personal information, or complaints, please email CommentHelperBuddha@gmail.com.
